In Engagement Ring Box, Hide Engagement Ring, How to Propose, Ring Stash, Thin Engagement Ring Box

engagement ring box size

Ok so if you’re thinking about proposing soon, you have a few things to think about logistically when it comes to hiding your engagement ring box (assuming you haven’t done the smart thing and ordered a Ring Stash yet). Below are just some of the alternatives that I’ve seen as a Proposal Planner at The Heart Bandits that I’m sure you can agree are pretty awful.

HUGE Engagement Ring Box

This is the most common thing that guys use. They think that since the engagement ring came in this box, it must surely always go in that box… WRONG! I have no idea why standard engagement ring boxes are so huge. They’re very impractical. They may look nice but if you want to hide it on yourself you pretty much have no way. You’re left with having to wear a heavy coat or really baggy pants. And who wants to wear really baggy pants on their proposal day?

In Your Sock!

I have no idea why this is so popular but I’ve seen so many guys put the ring (with our without the original box) in their sock! I guess their thinking is that putting it in a shirt or pants pocket is too obvious. The problem with their sock is that it can probably easily fall off. Not to mention, that’s pretty gross.

Without a Box

This is the option that I had to resort to when I proposed to my then girlfriend and let me tell you, it’s VERY nerve racking. The ring itself is not meant to be carried by itself. It is small and could potentially get scratched or worse yet, dropped and lost. This is what I was constantly worried about on my proposal day and was checking my pocket every 5 minutes to make sure that it was still there.

At the Proposal Location

This option is pretty risky. Some people choose to have their engagement ring at the location to create the “ultimate surprise”. This is risky because you need to have a lot of trust in the location and/or the people helping out. You definitely DON’T want it brought out on the food or beverage because there are horror stories out there of people not seeing the ring and then eating or drinking it by mistake. Ouch!

No matter how you cut it, these alternatives are pretty awful. Do yourself and your nerves a favor and order a Ring Stash. It is your perfect solution to the bulky engagement ring box.
